ACL Injury & Rehabilitation
Torn your ACL? Getting back to sport starts with getting the personal plan right.
Whether you're pre-op, just had surgery, or mid-way through recovery and not seeing progress — our ACL Rehabilitation & Return-to-Sport Programme is built around one goal: getting you back on the pitch, court, or trail without becoming a repeat visitor to the operating table.
THE PROBLEM
Recovering from an ACL injury isn't just about healing the knee.
Most people who've had an ACL reconstruction hear the same thing: "give it 9 months." But time alone doesn't get you back to sport safely — up to 3 in 10 people who return to sport after ACL surgery go on to injure it again, often because strength and movement quality weren't fully rebuilt before they returned.
We don't guess when you're ready. We test it.
THE PROGRAMME
A four-phase pathway, not a stack of appointments
1. Recovery (Weeks 0–6)
Post-op or pre-op, the focus is protecting the joint, managing swelling and pain, and restoring basic range of motion and control.
2. Strength & Neuromuscular Control (Weeks 6–12+)
Rebuilding quad and hamstring strength symmetrically, and retraining the knee to stabilise under load — the foundation everything else depends on.
3. Running, Agility & Landing (Ongoing, criteria-based, not calendar-based)
Reintroducing running mechanics, then cutting, pivoting, and landing patterns — with load and complexity increased only once you're ready, not once a date on a calendar arrives.
4. Return to Sport & Re-Injury Prevention
Objective testing (strength symmetry, hop tests, movement quality) before we sign off on return to sport — plus an ongoing plan to keep you there.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
During a recent holiday in Hong Kong, I consulted Dr.Kieran for three physiotherapy sessions to continue my ACL rehabilitation following a skiing accident in Japan. Having seen a number of physiotherapists in Singapore, I could tell right from my first session with Kieran that he is of an exceptionally high caliber.
From the beginning, he proved to be exceptionally professional, approachable, and easy to communicate with, creating a welcoming and comfortable setting. He possesses a vast breadth of clinical knowledge and extensive experience, efficiently identifying my specific concerns and providing targeted, practical solutions and tailored exercises that directly addressed my needs.
With his consistent encouragement, I was able to execute movements that I initially doubted my current muscle connectivity and post-injury limitations would permit. Thanks to his expert guidance, I successfully completed movements that I had been unable to perform for months. While these may not be overly complex exercises, they were instrumental in helping me regain daily mobility and a sense of confidence.
It is just too bad that I don't live in Hong Kong! This experience has been truly invaluable, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone seeking professional physiotherapy care. - Carrie Tai
Ken Stuyt helped me after I tore my ACL playing football. I found Ken attentive, knowledgable, and thorough. As for Momentum, I found their facilities modern, well-maintained, and welcoming. I highly recommend both Ken and Momentum for physiotherapy treatment. - Will Sample
Can’t recommend this place enough! Ken has been my physio since Day 1 of my ACL injury when I didn’t know what the recovery would look like. He’s been so patient with me through my whole ACL rehab, pre and post ACL reconstruction surgery. Now thanks to Ken’s physiotherapy programme, I’m back to where I was pre injury. Thanks Ken and the Momentum team! - Nikki S
FAQ
How long does ACL rehabilitation take?
Most people return to sport between 9–12 months post-surgery, though recovery is based on meeting strength and movement milestones, not a fixed date. Some phases can progress faster with consistent, well-structured rehab.
Can I start rehab before surgery (prehab)?
Yes — pre-operative rehabilitation can improve strength and readiness going into surgery, which is linked to better outcomes afterward.
Do I need a referral to start?
No referral is required — you can book a Discovery Call or first assessment directly with our team.
What sports can this programme support a return to?
Our Return-to-Sport testing is tailored to your specific sport's demands — whether that's football, climbing, running sports, or court sports — not a generic "cleared to exercise" sign-off.
